A unique program developed by the Mayo Clinic and offered by the MCI & Dementia Prevention Laboratory at the UF College of Public Health and Health Professionals is designed to help people with mild cognitive impairment.
MCI affects thinking and memory. People with MCI are often more susceptible to developing Alzheimer’s or other types of dementia.
The program is designed to strengthen the person’s cognitive ability and physical activities, ultimately making them more independent.
Normally, the 10-day, 50-hour program would be open to people dealing with MCI and their partners. Unfortunately, due to concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic, the program is currently on hiatus and will resume as soon as it is safe.
